Terror House

Your mom is gone for the weekend and she only left two rules... set the alarm and lock up the house before you go to bed. Will you remember? Will you get to them all?

This is a Two Minute Horror Jam entry (a game you can play in two minutes). Made by two people!  This is the first game we've ever made, so we hope you enjoy! :)

Use ARROW KEYS to walk around

ENTER/SPACEBAR to lock the doors.

Mouse (or ARROW KEYS + ENTER/SPACEBAR) to enter code.

(This game is also controller friendly. LEFT STICK to move and X to select/lock doors).

Thanks and happy playing!!

Install instructions

**Some mac users may not need to do what's below at all!! It happened with the artist's mac, so we are putting a common fix here!

NOTE FOR MAC USERS: There is a little work around that may need to be done for the mac build to run. Instructions are as follows: Download the game (and unzip if necessary), cd into the folder that contains TerrorHouse.app (ex. cd Downloads, cd Desktop, etc), access your terminal and type the following "chmod +x TerrorHouse.app/Contents/MacOS/TerrorHouse" This makes the game executable! Also, sometimes Mac's security doesn't allow apps from "unknown developers" to run easily, so you may have to right click (control click works as well) on the app and select "Open." Simply double clicking may result in it saying it cannot be opened.

Was actually fun! Was super simple and the first appearance of the person outside the door was spooky..

(Also I think I might have found a bug? The game closed itself on the second try that I tried to put in the code. Or this might have been intentional, in that case, my bad.)

But yea, it was a pretty simple game and very straight forward, was not expecting it to be actually spooky. Also there was an open door sized hole right next to the backdoor? Not sure if that counted as an opening for someone to go through.

Thank you so much for that feedback! This was made for a game jam, so there may be some bugs here and there. It's probably worth going back and fixing, so I really appreciate that information (there shouldn't be an open door for example and the code shouldn't close the game). I'm glad you enjoyed it overall! Thank you for playing! :)

Holy crap, all the sudden movements from outside got my heart almost racing! Great game! If it was in first person view, that would've made it easier (and probably even more scarier since you would see it from the played character's eyes rather than from an invisible bystander.) But other than that, it's a good game!

Thank you so much for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it ^_^
